Well, preparations for welcoming the new state are now in full flow and for making the day all the more memorable, media reports say hundreds of couples are tying the knot on June 2, which will be the Telangana Formation Day.

Celebrations are all set to start from evening of June 1, itself. Many students’ organisations and political parties are organizing cultural programmes at Gun Park, Secunderabad Martyrs Memorial and Arts College while some are planning bike rallies across the city.

Sources say that hotels, resorts and function halls are completely booked to celebrate the occasion while others are expected take the day off from work, though, June 2 is not yet declared a holiday.

With Panchami falling on Monday with the Pushya Nakshatram which also coincides with the Mithuna lagnam, the day is reportedly seen as very auspicious, rare and good for anything new and hence over 10,000 weddings are reportedly being performed on this day boosted by the sentiment of the formation of new state as well.
