Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) chairman Anil Ambani met Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at the Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development (MCRHRD) institute on Monday and expressed his desire to invest in various fields like power, infrastructure, media and other areas. The ADAG group chairman congratulated the Chief Minister for achieving Telangana state and forming the first government.
He said that KCR had fought and achieved Telangana and stood at a higher level like his father Dhirubhai Ambani, who toiled his way up. He said that he would play his role in the reconstruction of Telangana. Anil Ambani expressed his desire to have investments in the fields of power, basic infrastructure, industrialization and media. The Chief Minister thanked Anil Ambani for his gesture and said that government was preparing a draft on how to re-invent Telangana state.
“We are formulating a new industrial policy and the government would like to hold discussions on the issue,” the release quoted Rao as having told Anil Ambani. IT minister K T Rama Rao, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and others were also present on the occasion, a release from the Chief Minister’s office said. Later, a delegation from the association of power producers, including top corporate honchos like Anil Ambani and G Sanjay Reddy met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here and discussed issues of gas supply to the 7,000 MW gas-based plants lying idle in the state.
Others in the delegation include L Madhusudana Rao of Lanco Group and GBS Raju of GMR Group, according to a release from the AP government. Naidu told them to take up with the Centre for setting up an LNG terminal and a floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) in KG basin for the benefit of both the states and power consumers, the release said.
