Telangana state Great journalist and former “Namasthe Telangana” Editor Allam Narayana on Monday took over as Press Academy chairman of Telangana State at Chapel Road. Speaking on the occasion, Narayana said they would come up with a new plan to conduct more training classes for budding journalists working in various media organisations, including print and electronic.
Till date, the previous academy confined to conduct training classes, but we will hold seminars, workshops and round table conferences with senior journalists and intellectuals to create awareness against belittling of Telangana and its slang by Seemandhra media houses, Narayana maintained.
He expressed happiness on taking over as the chief of the Press Academy after Telangana achieving statehood.
Telangana finance minister Etela Rajender said the academy will focus on journalistic ethics and inculcate values among those in the field.
The government, he said, will resolve the problems of the journalists besides encouraging them to take adequate training in writing for media, he said.
