Telangana 2 BHK Housing policy
The 2 BHK housing scheme – a major poll promise of the TRS – will be launched in selected mandals in all the Assembly constituencies. The 2BHK houses will have a built up area of about 570 sq.ft, including a toilet.
The beneficiaries will be selected by district collectors based on the household survey conducted by the TS government in August last year. The government has estimated the expenditure for each 2BHK house at nearly Rs 9 lakh in cities and Rs 7 lakh in semi-urban and rural areas.
The Cabinet has decided to award tenders for constructing houses through open bidding process. It was decided to postpone the launch of the new industrial approval policy, called TS-iPASS, from June 7 to June 12 as some industry bigwigs invited by the government conveyed that they could not make it on June 7 due to prior engagements.
The meeting chaired by Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao went on for nearly three hours in the Secretariat. There was no official briefing by the government on the cabinet decision.
