The Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday launched ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan, union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, state cabinet minister and officials of the state government. with 36,000 officials including the Governor, MPs, MLAs and top officials.
Speaking on the occasion of Swach Hyderabad, Chief Minister said that Hyderabad city despite having an individual and distinctive identity lacks perfect system for sanitation and cleanliness.
Hence the government has launched the Swachh Hyderabad campaign to help Hyderabad in turning into a clean and green city, said KCR.
KCR said that he is taking forward the concept of clean environment which was first launched by Mahatma Gandhi and later inspired Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
The CM told to the officials to visit their respective areas and hold meetings with local residents. He instructed them to begin their work from Sunday (May 17, 2015) morning and spend at least five hours in the basthis.
