Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has lauded Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao for his efforts in the field of information technology and the support being given to the startups through the T-Hub.
Parrikar wrote a letter to KTR in which he stated that his department would like to work with the Telangana IT department. He said they would like to undertake experiments in the Defence technology sector in Hyderabad.
He said this would help develop startup ecosystem in the Defence technology sector in Hyderabad. Parrikar directed the DRDO to take steps to partner with the state.
Welcoming the Union Defence Minister’s ideas, Mr. Rama Rao said the Telangana government would make a specific request with the Centre to examine the possibility of setting up defence/aerospace incubators since the city already has several Central government research organisations, foothold of aerospace industry and start-up ecosystem in the technology sector.
Letter to KTR From Malaysia Government
Meanwhile, in another letter to the Industries and IT Minister of Telangana, Malaysian Minister for International Trade and Industry Mustafa Mohammed complimented the Telangana government’s cooperation to Malaysian companies having operations here.
He stated that he had examined several opportunities for participation with Telangana when he visited the State last month along with a delegation.
He invited Mr. Rama Rao to visit Malaysia for strengthening the trade and cultural ties between Telangana and Malaysia further and also to explain the investors there about investment opportunities in Telangana. He hoped that the cordial relations between the two governments would continue.
Defence Minister Parrikar Praises KTR For T-Hub Initiative
