Fire accident in Sirisilla Rajaiah House 4 people burnt alive, including his daughter-in-law and three grandchildren, died after a fire broke out at the former MP’s house in Warangal on Wednesday.
According to a report in NDTV, a gas cylinder leak is estimated to have triggered the fire which killed Sarika and her three sons – Abhinav, Ayan, and Sriyan.
This comes on the day Rajaiah planned to file his nomination papers for the Warangal Lok Sabha by-election for the Congress.
Rajaiah’s daughter-in-law had married his son in 2002, but the family witnessed turbulent times. Sarika had earlier filed a case of dowry and even staged a sit-in outside her father-in-law’s house.
Sircilla Rajaiah won the Warangal MP seat in 2009 election as Congress nominee, but lost the same in 2014 elections to Kadiyam Srihari, who was later promoted to the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana.
The police have registered a case and have launched an investigation into the incident.
