First Telangana Budget Session will commence on November 5
The First Telangana Budget Session will commence on November 5, Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender will present the Telangana Budget on the first day and the Session will continue till November 23.
CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who chaired the TRS Legislature party meeting and also met legislators from each district at the party headquarters Telangana Bhavan on Friday, told them that the government would tackle the power crisis by introducing 20 lakh solar powered agriculture pump sets to farmers.
He said solar agricultural pump sets will be given to farmers at subsidised rates. Initially, 40,000 solar pump sets of 5 HP and 3 HP will be given to farmers and the cost will be recovered in instalments.
He asked party legislators to be prepared on issues and counter Opposition onslaught against the TRS government over power crisis and other welfare issues besides programmes and policies.
Mr Rao told legislators at a closed-door meeting that the Rs 1.5 crore constituency development fund to legislators would be released in March. The first full Budget Session of the TRS government is likely to be a stormy affair.
Though the TRS has a majority with 70-odd MLAs in the Assembly and is equally strong in the Legislative Council, the party will draw flak from the Opposition Telugu Desam, the Congress, the BJP and the Left parties over the severe power crisis, which has hit the farm sector, delay in the implementation of TRS’ electoral promises like two-bed room houses, the controversy over pruning down the number of ration card holders, staggered implementation of Rs1 lakh loan waiver scheme and other burning issues.
