The literacy rate in the city is approximately 84 per cent. Though this is higher than the national average of 74 per cent, it is lower than other Indian metropolitans like Mumbai and national capital Delhi.
Dubai is estimated to have an average literacy rate of 90 per cent, while that of Singapore stands still higher at 94 per cent.
