Hyderabad Metro Rail trial run will be taken up shortly, said Project MD NVS Reddy. He said that Nagol-Mettudua services will be launched on Ugadi day.
The Managing Director said that HMR is completely Telangana project and so far Rs.4,600 crores were spent on Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. Even if the alignment cost increases, the project would be completed. The project work would not be stopped at any cost.
Minister for IT KT Rama Rao said that the project would not be limited to only 72 kms. The project would be expanded up to 240 km by 2040. He said that the government is committed for implementation of the same. Small problems will be sorted out in course of time. He said that the alternatives for underground train services will be explored.
The Minister said that those areas which are not covered under Metro will be covered with BRTS and LRTS.
