IAF chopper crashlands near Hyderabad: A pilot from Hakimpet Airforce Station escaped unhurt after a training sortie on an HJT-16 Kiran aircraft crashlanded in Keesaragutta, under the Keesara police station limits, here on Thursday morning.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 11 am after the plane, which took off from the Hakimpet Air force station experienced technical glitches.

“There was only one person present inside who is believed to be an officer with the Indian Air Force,” an official said, adding that the pilot successfully ejected himself from the aircraft and suffered no injuries.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and are collecting clues. The police along with Air Force officials are trying to find out the reasons for the crash.
