International Dance Festival 2017 in Hyderabad: The Hyderabad city will play host to an international dance festival in the beginning the next year.
Telangana chief secretary Rajiva Sharma, at a review meeting on Monday, directed the officials to make arrangements for the international dance festival to be conducted by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union between January 13 and 15 next year.

The festival, being conducted here at Shilpa Kala Vedika by Prasar Bharathi with support from the Government, will see participation from 120 artistes from 12 countries, a press note informed.
The event will be attended by Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao.
Telangana artistes may send their entries on the Prasar Bharathi website, Mr.Sharma informed.
ABU International Dance Festival 2017
The ABU International Dance Festival 2017 will be the inaugural ABU International Dance Festival, which is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad, India on 15 January 2017.
Indian national broadcasters Doordarshan (DD) and All India Radio (AIR), which are part of the public broadcasting agency Prasar Bharati (PB), will be in charge of organising the event.
The festival was originally scheduled to take place in New Delhi in November 2016, but was later moved to a new host city and the festival dates subsequently changed.
The competition is for amateur dancers between the ages of 18 and 25, who will perform two dance routines. As this is the inaugural festival, all participating countries will be making their debut.
So far only the host country, India, has confirmed their participation.
