The Former Sangareddy MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy is all set to join the Congress party again. he met All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Digvijay Singh in New Delhi on Thursday and expressed his willingness to join the party.
Jayaprakash Reddy to Rejoin Congress
He said that Mr. Singh responded positively and he would join the party early next month.
This would be for the second time that Mr. Reddy would be joining the party, first time being in 2009 during the tenure of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
He was elected to the Assembly in 2004 general elections from the district headquarters on TRS ticket but switched loyalty to the then Chief Minister as his differences with TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao widened.
After getting elected in 2009, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy was with the Congress till 2014, and was made as Whip during the tenure of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
However, the defeat in 2014 general elections put him in the dark for some time but he was quick to join the BJP and contest Medak Lok Sabha by elections in which he was defeated by K. Prabhakar Reddy.
