After formation of Telangana state government has planed to Kakatiya Festival Celebrations at Quilla Ramalayam in Dichpally on a grand scale. Celebrations starts from January 9 to 11 2015.
The decision was taken at a high level meeting held at Plaza Hotel (Tourism Hotel) at Begumpet in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Advisors to the government K.V. Ramanachary and Papa Rao, Principal Secretary B.P. Acharya, Director Information and Public Relations A. Subash Goud, Director of Culture Harikrishna, Additional Director, Information and Public Relations, J. Pavankumar and others attended.
The meeting sought proposals for conducting the festival and budget estimates for the same from the District Collector.
Different official committees would be constituted to entrust responsibilities dividing them into categories. The temple, located 150 km north to Hyderabad and close to NH-44, would be beautifully decorated and illuminated for the grand fete.
Stalls and pandals would be set up highlighting the greatness of the 300-year rule of Kakatiya kingdom. Cultural programmes, including classical dances and local art forms, Kavi Sammelanams and vocal concerts, would be held. Famous personalities from all fields would be invited, said Additional Joint Collector P. Seshadri.
The festival would be celebrated across the State and as of now, there was no clarity as to how many days the festival should be held. However, it will be celebrated for three days in the Kakatiya Fort, Warangal, said Mr. Pavan Kumar.
