The Chief Minister KCR Appreciate A Special Branch constable of Jubilee Hills police station, G Narayana Rao, on Sunday. The reason for his sincerity and honesty in discharging his duties.
Rao received information about the constable’s sincerity from his friend, to whose house the constable went for verification of a passport application and refused to accept a bribe or tip for checking the veracity of the applicant’s information such as address.
Minutes after conversation with the applicant, the chief minister directed Hyderabad police commissioner M Mahender Reddy to bring Narayana Rao to him for personally appreciating his commmendable job. The police commissioner and joint commissioner (SB) Nagi Reddy, along with constable Narayana Rao, called on chief minister at the CM’s camp office. The chief minister appreciated the constable for declining bribe from the passport applicant.
Interacting with police officials, the chief minister expressed his satisfaction with implementation of reforms in the Hyderabad police commissionerate. He, however, asked the police to serve the public better by redressing their grievances and said the state government was keen to provide facilities to police.
An official press release said the constable visited a house on Road No. 10 in Jubilee Hills police limits for verification of a passport applicant’s information.
The constable, Narayana Rao, also enquired with the neighbours of the applicant and tallied the information.
When he finished his work and was leaving the passport-seeker’s house, the latter’s father offered a tip to him. But Narayana Rao declined the tip, saying that the state government increased their salaries and was also providing them several facilities.
After the constable had left, the applicant’s father, said to be a friend of the chief minister, called up the latter and praised the city police for discharging their duties with honesty and devotion
