The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday sanctioned creation of 3.620 constables posts.The permission by the Chief Minister came in the wake of the proposal made by Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy for filling up the posts of drivers following the launch of new vehicles in the department.
Since the formation of Telangana state, the decisions which were taken by the government in favour of police department would be implemented without any delay, the Chief Minister maintained.
Rao also commended the untiring efforts of ‘She Teams’ in curbing eve-teasing in the city and also directed the launch of She Teams in Warangal, Khammam, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Ramagundam on the same lines.
The Chief Minister expressed his desire for setting up a police commissionerate in Warangal and issued orders to this effect.
“The citizens felt happy and heaved a sigh of relief to the way police controlled and launched various drives against gambling dens and ‘matka’ centres,” Rao said.
