CM KCR ordered all universities in the State to make available online the list of those who graduated from the universities. He directed officials of higher education to make all universities follow JNTU-H in this regard.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTU-H) has already put online it’s graduates since 2010. With a certain fee, any recruiting company can verify the genuineness of candidates they are considering to hire, by submitting a request on JNTU website.
JNTU-H took the step towards transparency when it’s bombarded with complaints of fake certificates. Thousands of JNTU graduates each year enter job market and so it has become a good name to fake and use.
Wipro Chairman Azim Premji, who met the CM recently reportedly broached the subject of too many aspirants applying fake certificates from JNTU and Osmania University. As per news, he reportedly remarked verification of these thousands of certificates has becomes tedious affair consuming vital human resources at his company.
The CM immediately ordered the officials to move on the scourge of fake certificates by effective verification mechanism to help the IT recruiting companies. The CM took the issue seriously as it involves the brand image of the IT hub of Hyderabad and it’s 2 premier universities.
Officials from Osmania University recently have started to get their system in place for online verification. It already has a limited verification available online for just the US embassy, which complained similarly about fake degrees few years ago, while processing visas. The university may try extending that system to all recruiters.
