The Telangana State CM KCR to Lay Foundation stone for Palamuru RangaReddy Lift Irrigation Project on 11th June 2015, said by Mahabubnagar MP AP Jithender Reddy.
Participating in a program with Auto Unions, Jithender Reddy alleged that Seemandhra leaders shifted the water share of Telangana to Andhra region during erstwhile United State.
The previous government failed to release funds to complete the projects located in Telangana region and not even accepted for a survey on Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project.
He said that the TRS government is giving top priority to Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project estimated to cost Rs.35,000 crore. Mahabubnagar MLA Srinivas Goud and former MLC Jagadeeshwar Reddy participated in the program.
As per the plans, the government will divert 75 tmcft water from Jurala Project to Koilkonda reservoir. From there, the water will be diverted to Mahbubnagar and Rangareddy and Nalgonda districts.
The Palamuru LI scheme is intended to irrigate 7 lakh acres in Mahbubnagar, 2.75 lakh acres in Rangareddy and 30,000 acres in Nalgonda district.
Besides, the project will supply drinking water to Hyderabad. The government is planning to stabilise around 3.5 lakh acres in these districts which were under tanks.
