Konda Muralidhar Rao Elected as MLC

The ruling party leaders were confident that they would win the seat with over 500 votes in their favour out of about 700 votes in the local bodies’ category.

Mr. Muralidhar Rao, husband of TRS MLA from Warangal East, Konda Surekha, began his political career with the TDP and later joined the Congress. Later, both of them joined the YSRCP. Just before the last general elections, they joined the TRS.

Mr Muralidhar Rao was elected MLC on Congress ticket in the local bodies category earlier. The couple have their own following in Shayampet constituency, which Ms Surekha represented for some time. After delimitation, they moved to Parkal Assembly constituency, where they have strong hold on masses.
