The South Central Railway has planned to introduce several Krishna Pushkaralu Special Trains 2016 to reduce inconvenience for the hordes of passengers expected to travel to and from different destinations for a holy dip in the river Krishna.
At a meeting here on Thursday, General Manager Ravindra Gupta underscored the need to formalise a specific monitoring mechanism so that they could be ready for the rush of pilgrims that could be expected.

He said such a system would ensure that deadlines could be met for meeting the required arrangements without a hitch, especially because the summer and monsoon seasons would overlap each other.
He asked the Operating Department to plan for special trains during the Pushkarams period in view of the anticipated rush of pilgrim traffic from various directions.
Temporary arrangements like additional waiting sheds, booking counters, reservation counters, toilets, drinking water facilities, catering facilities and the likes were required to be in place well in advance, he said, asking heads of Engineering, Electrical and Commercial Departments to be ready.
Those present included Additional GM A.K. Gupta, Principal Chief Engineer S.N. Singh, Principal Chief Engineer, Chief Commercial Manager M.P. Reddy, Chief Operations Manager K. Siva Prasad and Chief Security Commissioner Sanjay Sankrityayan.
