Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana Bhanwar Lal informed the people of the two States that the Election Commission of India had extended the date for filing of fresh voter enrollment applications and claims till December 15, 2014.
He said that the existing voters could also raise their objections during the said period. The CEO asked the people of the two States to utilise the opportunity by filing their claims and objections within the stipulated time.
Noting that all the persons attaining 18 years of age are eligible for enrolling as voters, Bhanwar Lal urged the youngsters to apply for Electoral Photo Id Cards (EPIC) from the commission.
The CEO further said that they were holding special campaign days on December 13 and December 14 for the convenience of the voters. He said that the voters who have any claim or objection can approach the Booth Level Officers (BLO) on the two days to solve their issues.
The CEO informed that the claims and objections raised by the voters would be disposed by December 28, 2014.
The final list of the voters would be published on January 16, 2014
