Former Minister and ex-PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah said that the Ponnala Foundation started by him would present an award to a mathematics genius every year in memory of Indian math genius Srinivasa Ramanujan in order to promote the subject among children.
“U.S. needs more than a million mathematics teachers in the near future and our foundation will take steps to help our State children make a mark in that area (in U.S.A.),” he said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the renovated conference hall and kitchen of the Press Club Hyderabad on Sunday. Mr. Lakshmaiah donated Rs. 5 lakh from the foundation and the money would also be used for the new billing system to be introduced in the club.
