The Telangana State Universities To improve the quality of higher education, semester system is likely to be introduced in graduation courses. To introduce this method from the academic year 2015-16, the Council of Higher Education had already prepared the syllabus.
In the first phase, the semester examinations will be introduced for B.Com students. In this connection, orders were reportedly sent to all universities regarding the syllabus and semester method.
Receiving the orders, the Satavahana University is about to arrange a meeting with the Principals of private degree colleges to discuss on the syllabus.

In this system, a total of six semester examinations will be conducted in a three-year degree course with two semester examinations every year. According to the new method, in the first year degree course, there will be first and second semester examinations, in the second year degree course there will be third and fourth semester examinations and in the final year there will be fifth and sixth semester examinations.
From first to fourth semesters, there will be four subjects per each semester with 50 marks each and for fifth to sixth semesters there will be six subjects per each semester with 50 marks each.
In the first phase, this method is proposed to be introduced to B.Com and Computer course students. A total of 1400 marks are allotted for 28 examinations. For each examination of 50 marks 3 hours of time will be given.
Some students who fail to secure admission in engineering and D.Ed courses prefer the degree courses in the last minute.
