Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed all the officials to take up the repair works of Nizamsagar project canals and stabilize the ayacut worth Rs 3 lakh. Addressing a review meeting with the officials at his Camp Office in Hyderabad on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that the projects should be redesigned in such a way that they would be in a better position to irrigate more hectares of agricultural land. The repair works should be speeded up to end the water woes of the farmers, he added.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the repair works of Sriram Sagar Project. He said that earlier, lakhs of acres of agricultural lands were irrigated in three Telangana districts through Nizam Sagar Project and similarly, the project should be redesigned in such a way that the three district receives the same quantity of water through this project.
