Swachh Warangal campaign starts soon
Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari said the entire warangal municipal corporation would be divided into zones with public representatives and officials as in-charge, the drive would be taken up. He called upon people to voluntarily come forward and make it a grand success.
Mr. Srihari said Rs. 45 lakh was sanctioned for a new compound wall of the Public Gardens and Rs.10 lakh for Walkers’ Track. The works would be executed within six months.
The Deputy Chief Minister said special focus was being put on Warangal, the heritage city for a planned development. “We are pooling up funds from various sources and schemes to ensure planned development of Warangal city,” he said.
Legislator D. Vinay Bhaskar said though the corporation had banned plastic, people were still using. “None of the programmes or policies will be successful if people do not cooperate,” he said.
The MLA said a comprehensive plan is being prepared for widening and beautification of all road junctions in tri-cities ‘Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet’.
Municipal Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed said a comprehensive masterplan with micro-level planning is being prepared and it would be unveiled soon.
