The Government of Telangana will launch a five-day Swachh Hyderabad campaign on May 16th at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore. The campaign, christened as “Swachh Telangana – Swachh Hyderabad”, will be held from 16th to 20th May and will be launched by Governor ESL Narasimhan.
All ministers, elected representatives, officials, businessmen, industrialists, institutions and common people will participate in the campaign, claimed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao during a review meeting held here on Wednesday
Swachh Hyderabad campaign Details
For the ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ campaign, the entire city will be divided into 400 areas. While a 15-member committee will supervise the works, about 6,000 people would be made incharge for the programme and they will be responsible for cleaning a stretch of one-and-a-half kilometre.
An awareness camp will be launched for the programme on May 6. While stating that he himself will participate in the programme, the Chief Minister called upon different sections of the society, especially the corporates to participate in the program.
The Chief Minister said all of the participant teams will be given training at an awareness camp on May 6 and an action plan will be prepared for each of the blocks with focus on specific issues of the area like parks, toilets, drain canals and organize resources, material from the GHMC.
The cultural teams, NGOs, visual and print media will play their part, said KCR highlighting the significance attached to the campaign.
