AIIMS Hyderabad Bibinagar, AIIMS Bibinagar News, aiims telangana latest news, aiims bhongir: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday has given its approval to start All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at the existing Bibinagar campus of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

The establishment and operationalisation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Telangana, at Bibinagar from next academic year appears to be a certainty now.
The examination wing of AIIMS, New Delhi, has formally issued notification for admission into MBBS courses and has included AIIMS, Telangana, along with 13 other newly established premier institutions that will offer the courses from the academic year 2019.

The notification said that the centralised examination for admission into MBBS courses offered by AIIMS, is scheduled to be held on May 25 and May 26, 2019 across the country.
The AIIMS notification marks the culmination of a sustained campaign by the State health authorities with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (c), New Delhi to set-up AIIMS like institution at the 160-acre Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) campus at Bibinagar.
In terms of adding more MBBS seats and establishing teaching hospitals, the last one-year has been quite productive for health authorities in the State. Apart from getting permission for AIIMS, the authorities here have managed to receive permissions to start four new medical colleges in Telangana.
This April, the Health Ministry had sanctioned AIIMS for Telangana and by July, the existing NIMS Bibinagar campus was identified to set up the premier health care institute.
The State health authorities have already handed over the entire land and the NIMS, Bibinagar building with 7 lakh sq ft of area to Health Ministry. For the past two years, the outpatient services are already being delivered at Bibinagar by doctors at NIMS.
