The government has launched this new Amma Vodi scheme for the pregnant girls with a budget outlay of Rs. 605 large integer for the yr 2017-18.
Under the ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme, the government is aiming to cover 2.5 lakh pregnant women in the State with each woman to receive Rs 12,000. An additional Rs 1,000 will be provided in case the newborn is a girl. The government is also procuring close to 2.5 lakh KCR kits each costing Rs 2,000.
The health information of individual pregnant women gets uploaded on to a central server, which will then enable senior government doctors and officials to track the women throughout their pregnancy.
As a pilot project, health authorities have already implemented the MCTS project by collecting information of pregnant women in Mahabubnagar district, which was demonstrated by officials in the review meeting.
