The facility will focus on advanced geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and photogrammetry technologies, catering to a host of solutions for the transportation (navigation), utilities, and communications sectors.

The centre will have world-class spatial data analytics solutions to address the requirements of specialized geospatial data processing services, using light detection and ranging (LiDAR) and other point cloud technologies, the company said.

The facility will commence operations in April this year from the IT incubation tower of TSIIC, which was also inaugurated by the minister.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and Cyient’s founder and executive chairman B.V.R. Mohan Reddy attended the ceremony.

Rama Rao lauded Cyient for taking a lead in taking IT beyond Hyderabad to tier-II cities and termed it as a historic event. He pointed out that Cyient has presence in 32 countries with 13,000 to 14,000 employees including 7,000 in Hyderabad.

Mohan Reddy said the centre in Warangal will help accelerate socio-economic development of the region. He said this will be the fourth technology development centre in tier-2 cities, for Cyient.
