The Telangana state Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao called on different Union Ministers at New Delhi on Thursday and sought special funds for the Water Grid project.
KTR met HUDCO Chairman Ravikanth and apprised him about the Water Grid project. He said drinking water would be provided to all households across Telangana State in the next four years.
He urged the HUDCO chief to sanction Rs. 25,000 Crore loan for the project.
Earlier, KTR met Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu and invited him to participate in the international conference on Smart Cities being held in Hyderabad in the month of August.
He sought Venkaiah Naidu’s support for setting up Smart Cities in Telangana State. He also sought funds for the 2BHK scheme of the State Government.
He also submitted a proposal for conversion of 12 towns of Telangana, including Siddipet, into Class-I cities.
KTR also met Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and submitted proposals for the development of National Highways other projects in Telangana.
