Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao (KTR), is very busy in US on the first day of his visit. Minister K.T.R has started his America tour from Washington DC and he will be staying in America for couple of weeks. Rao, met top executives of Boeing and made a presentation on the opportunities for aerospace industry in the state, an official release said here today.
Noting that the company is thinking of setting up a manufacturing facility in India, the Boeing officials said it would send a team of its representatives to discuss the possibilities for investment in Telangana, it said.
Earlier, Rao had a meeting with Indian Ambassador to US Arun Kumar Singh, it said.
The minister also met HP Vice-President Suparno Banerjee and urged him to set up a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
He requested the company to set up a trauma care centre in Telangana as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities and the company has agreed to it, the release added.
According to it, Rao also met representatives of Ford Motor Company, Wipro, Pfizer and also the Telugus living in America.
The IT Minister who is on a two-week tour of the US, visited Washington, New York and met several industrialists and NRIs on Thursday.
Mr Allen was informed of the Tata Advanced Systems Ltd that is currently being set up with three new facilities in the 250-acre SEZ at Adibatla in association with Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky for the manufacture of aircraft, helicopter cabins and its components. KTR invited Boeing to set up similar facilities to which Mr Allen responded favourably and said that investment proposals will be explored in the state by the company’s delegation who will make a visit in July.
For the health and education sectors, KTR called on Suparno Banerjee, VP, Public Sector Programmes of HP, to develop innovative programmes and Mr Banerjee agreed to develop trauma centres in Hyderabad city along with the possibility of locating the manufacturing facility for HP printers in Hyderabad was discussed.
KTR also met senior representatives from Lockheed Martin, Ford Motor Company, Pfizer, Master Card and Wipro. Offering to begin a healthcare KPO and Analytics Company in Karimnagar, Vice-President of Eclat Health Solutions, Mr Jerry Jorgensen met Mr Rao stating that around 200 people will be given employment in the next six months.
