The Central Government is OK for Telangana Tableau in Republic day parade 2015. The culture and heritage of Telangana State is likely to be showcased during the Republic Day parade on January 26 2015.
The Telangana state government request of the display the Telangana Tableau of the State was initially rejected by the Union Ministry of Defence which accords permission for the tableaux, the defence ministry reportedly gave permission for the same on Thursday.
The ministry received nearly 40 applications from States and other departments but it approved only 13 of them which do not include the State’s tableau.
Mahbubnagar MP AP Jithender Reddy took up the issue with defence minister Manohar Parrikar and finance minister Arun Jaitley and requested that the new State’s culture be showcased at the national and international level by allowing the State’s tableau in the R-Day parade.
For Telangana, the R-Day parade will be its first after coming into existence and also US President Barack Obama will be the guest at the event.
The Telangana government wants to make sure that the new State’s culture is highlighted at the national level through the tableau.
According to sources in the State I&PR department, the tableau of the State will have Telangana’s traditional Bonalu and ‘potharaju’ displaying the art. The tableau will have a Kakatiya arch as its background, sources said.
