Wonderla Holidays Limited is all set to start India’s largest amusement park near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The Rs 250 crore venture would be the most eco-friendly park as it promises to consume less electricity and water and has the capacity to internally generate 1MW of solar power.

Wonderla Holidays managing director Arun K Chittilappilly said the park will have 43 land and water based rides and will have the capacity to accommodate 10,000 people. “In the next one year we will also add three more new attractions including India’s first space theme flying theatre experience,'” he said.
Of the 25 land based rides including the country’s first reverse looping roller coaster, 18 are fully imported from Europe. Seven land attractions and nine water based rides and pools have been made completely by the Wonderla Engineering division.
The flying theatre experience will be opened by December 2016. It will be the first park in India with cashless RFID based transactions facility called EZ Pay across the park and the first one that will have the capacity to generate over 1mw of solar power, said Depinderjit Singh Sachdeva, CEO, Wonderla Holidays Limited.
The Wonderla Hyderabad park would also feature Maverick, Techno Jump, Space Jam, Equinox, Twin flip T-Rex, Termite coaster, Pirate ship, Sky wheel, Grand prix and Crazy cars and 18 water based attractions and two large wave pools.
Opening next month
Arun K Chittilappilly, Managing Director of Wonderla Holidays, said: “The amusement park near the airport has been set up on a 50-acre site in a record 18 months’ time and will be formally launched next month. The construction has been completed and we are in the process of securing the requisite permissions which should come in shortly.”
