Telangana Cartoonist gets global honour. Pamarthy Shankar a cartoonist associated with a Telugu vernacular of the State has become the first Asian to receive the Grand Prix World Press Cartoon for his work on Nelson Mandela.
He got the first prize for his cartoon at international level. This is the fourth international prize for Shankar.
The uniqueness of his cartoon is that his caricature speaks a lot without creating any bad opinion about his depictions. He will receive the prize worth of 1000 Euros in a ceremony scheduled to be held in Portugal next month.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao congratulated him for this achievement and assured to extend his support in future.
