Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday extended hearty congratulations to N Chandrababu Naidu on the occasion of his swearing-in as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. Talking to media persons here on Sunday, KCR extended greetings to Naidu for taking over as CM of AP post bifurcation. “Now that the two Telugu speaking States are formed, let us together coordinate for future development and prosper,” KCR said.
The Chief Minister also said that the new State of Andhra Pradesh will develop gradually on par with other States. “We will certainly work in tandem with our neighboring States in coordination,” KCR said and extended full cooperation to Naidu. The Telangana CM said they have no objection if Godavari waters were given to AP instead of going waste into sea. “Why should we oppose when Godavari waters are being given to our neighbouring Telugu people?” he asked. However, he stated they must think of tribal villages to be submerged due to Polavaram project in Khammam district.
Meanwhile, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, MDMK President Vaiko and Shiva Sena Party chief Uddhav Thakeray were also present during the oath taking ceremonyArt of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, GMR Group chairman G Mallikarjuna Rao, Badminton star Pullela Gopichand, actors Junior NTR and his brother N Kalyan Ram, Nara Rohit, family members of TDP founder N T Rama Rao like MLA N Balakrishna, Hari Krishna, Jaya Krishna, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh and daughter-in-law Brahmini attended the ceremony.
TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao and YCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy skipped the swearing-in ceremony despite being extended a formal invitation by Naidu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha did not attend the function and sent two ministers of her cabinet as her representatives.
