Sashanka Konduru, from Hyderabad, could not clear the Civil Services Preliminary in his first attempt, but in his second, he emerged as All India 16th ranker and state first ranker.

Sashanka (born in 1985) was brought up in Hyderabad where his father K Venkataiah, was the Supervisor in IDPL and his mother M Samyuktha is a Telugu Pandit.

District Collector K Shashanka kick-started the new initiative, Bhavita, by teaching “sustainable development and equality” in Social Studies to Class X students of ZPHS Nandinne in KT Doddi mandal for an hour.

District officers of Jogulamba Gadwal just got one more weekly task added to their job description on Thursday — picking any government high school from their nearest location and teaching anyone subject to Class IX and X students every week on Saturday.

District Collector K Shashanka kick-started the new initiative, Bhavita, by teaching “sustainable development and equality” in Social Studies to Class X students of ZPHS Nandinne in KT Doddi mandal for an hour.

With this approach towards monitoring education, higher-ups get first-hand information about not only the quality of education being imparted to children but also the quality of meals, infrastructural needs and other aspects of a children’s all-round development.

“One should have goals and must plan well to achieve those right from the student life itself. He/she should realise that education and fitness are equally important and must know how many calories of food he/she is consuming every day. What kind of food are we consuming, how long are we playing and what we are doing the entire day must be planned well,” he advised the children.

On Thursday morning, after Shashanka administered the pledge, questions were put to children on current affairs and general knowledge. DEO Sushinder Rao, ZPHS Nindinne headmaster Mohan, KT Doddi MRO Subhash Naidu, and others participated in the surprise guest lecture by the Collector.
