The notification for Telangana Eamcet counselling will be given as scheduled earlier, on Wednesday. Speaking to reporters, SCHE chairman Prof. L. Venugopal Reddy said, “We are receiving several representations from various organizations and parents about the delay in counselling.
Since the APSCHE is the competent authority to conduct entrance exams and counselling in the two states, we will approach the SC with all the facts and seek directions.”
Prof. Reddy added that the certificate verification process would begin from August 7.
Telangana education department officials had said that the matter pertaining to counselling was now sub judice and so a decision shouldn’t be taken.
APSCHE officials also found fault with the Telangana government’s argument that the matter was sub judice.
“The court even told the standing counsel clearly that the states could take up counselling and there was no need to wait for its decision,” a senior APSCHE official said.
The notification to Eamcet counselling will be issued on Wednesday.
