Telangana Fee Reimbursement Scheme

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday announced that the government will follow the old fee reimbursement scheme.

CM K Chandrasekhar Rao said there were extensive discussions and debates on several issues including the FAST scheme. In the end, the government decided to remove all confusion over the scheme and be liberal in view of the possible anguish among students and parents.

Hence it decided to stick to the old fee reimbursement programme. Chandrasekhar Rao said of the Rs 1,862 crore dues left by the previous government, his administration had already cleared Rs 1,000 crore and the cabinet decided to release the balance amount of Rs 862 crore with immediate effect.

“With this, all the previous fee dues will be cleared. The government will soon take a decision on paying the current year dues in tranches,” Chandrasekhar Rao said.

Telangana Fee Reimbursement Guidelines

CM KCR said As far as the fee reimbursement programme is concerned, the state government will follow the existing guidelines.

The government’s decision effectively removes all confusion over the issue of eligibility of students from Andhra Pradesh for the fee reimbursement scheme.

As per the guidelines of the previous scheme, any student who has studied consecutively in Telangana for seven years would be eligible for fee reimbursement.

The scheme primarily is aimed at students from the economically backward communities.
