Telangana Invites NIIT to Impart IT Education in Govt Schools
KTR met Rajendra Singh, who is leading the NASSCOM’s Cyber Security Task Force, along with IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, here on Friday. He explained various initiatives undertaken by the Telangana State government in IT sector.
The Minister briefed him about State government’s discussions with Carnegie Mellon University, USA, on joint research in cyber security as well introduction of special courses in Telangana State universities on that subject.
He also drew Rajendra Singh’s attention to State’s MoU with CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and Financial services, besides MasterCard evincing interest in collaborating with Telangana State government on cyber security.
Tata Group’s FC Kohli Research Centre also took up Cyber Security as one of its research areas at IIIT-Hyderabad. The IT Minister called upon NIIT chairman to choose Hyderabad as the destination for conducting research on Cyber Security given the intense activity taking place on IT front in the State. T-Hub, the ‘incubator of incubators’ would also encourage research in cyber security related areas, he added.
The Minister also wanted private entities to impart training to people and create a pool of cyber warriors. Meanwhile, Rajendra Singh hailed the initiatives of Telangana State government.
