After the last date for withdrawal of nominations for Telangana MLAs Quota MLC Polls 2015 seven candidates are in the race for six seats. No one withdrew nominations in the elections. The Telangana MLAs Quota MLC polling will be held on June 1 and counting will take place on the same day.
The ruling TRS fielded five candidates, TDP and Congress fielded one candidate each, necessitating the elections. The MLAs of Left parties may abstain from voting as they were not supporting any candidate.

The TRS party picked ministers, Kadiam Srihari and Tummala Nageswara Rao, for two seats as both have to be elected to either of the Houses to continue in the State Cabinet.
Likewise, former MLC and deputy chairperson of the Legislative Council Nethi Vidyasagar is understood to have been selected for another seat whereas the names of B Venkateswarlu (who joined the TRS from TDP), K Yadav Reddy (who shifted from Congress to TRS) and Prof Srinivas Reddy, who has been with the TRS right from its inception, are under consideration for the fourth seat.
