Telangana new Secretariat Foundation Stone on Nov 14: The stage is being set for new Secretariat for Telangana State as the ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for November and all the departments have been given 10 days time to vacate the existing Secretariat.

Barely within 24 hours after the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao met Governor ESL Narasimhan seeking returning of blocks allotted to AP Secretariat by Telangana Government, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma on Monday directed all the officials to relocated their respective departments to Burgula Ramakrishna Rao (BRK) bhavan and other available buildings in the city. Mumbai-based architect Hafeez Contractor will submit the new designs as suggested by KCR on new Secretariat buildings by the first week of November.

In the first phase, the A,B,C blocks would be demolished and the D block would be demolished later. Meanwhile, the buildings under the AP government would also taken over by the Telangana government. Besides the secretariat, KCR wants to bring all the government offices together at one place.

Just by the side of KCR’s camp office, the camp offices of other higher officials would be constructed. For easy availability, even the quarters would also be constructed in the same vicinity. Besides the officials in CM’s Peshi, the Speaker, Council Chairman, CS, DGP kind of higher officials should be available and hence their quarters should be constructed in the same complex.

The officials are planning to construct quarters for higher officials near CM’s camp office in Punjagutta. Quarters are being built with all facilities for State DGP, Government Chief Secretariat, CMO secretaries, Speaker, Council chairman, and a total of 15 other officials. Likewise, even in the district headquarters, all the officials will have quarters near the offices and plans are being prepared for the purpose.
