The Telangana state Government announced that it has decided to celebrate the Telangana state formation day on June 2 on a grand scale. The decision in this regard was taken at a Cabinet meeting of State, said a release from the Chief Minister’s Office.
The celebrations would be held for a week from June 2 to June 8 during which the tricolour would be unfurled on all government offices.
The Telangana state government would provide Rs 1 crore for each district for the Telangana state formation day celebrations
Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said in the meet that a festive atmosphere should prevail during the week-long celebrations.
The Cabinet has also decided to honour prominent persons in different fields on the occasion. Essay writing and singing competitions will be held for schoolchildren. Detail guidelines on state formation celebrations will be issued later, sources said.
Monetary rewards of Rs 1,00,116; Rs 50,116 and Rs 10,116 would be given at the state, district and mandal-levels, respectively, to meritorious recipients.
