The Government on Tuesday sanctioned the Telangana state’s first Residential Degree College for Women’s at Gajwel in Medak District. The college will come in Gajwel Town.
The existing degree college for girls will be converted into residential degree college for women. The government sanctioned a new building at an estimated cost of `5.95 crore for the college and a hostel building with `2.4 crore at KGBV premises in Gajwel.
Chandrasekhar Rao, who was supposed to visit Gajwel and announce the same on Tuesday, however, could not visit due to bad weather. However, the government issued three GOs on Tuesday with regard to the development of Gajwel.
The state governmenet accorded permission for shifting of the present Government Degree College for boys from the present premises to GMR Polytechnic, Sangapur in Medak district.
The present premises of the College building will be handed over to the medical and health department. The government also sanctioned a new building for government degree college for men with an estimated amount of `5.95 crore.
In another GO, the government accorded permission for shifting of the existing junior college for boys at Gajwel from the present premises to GMR Polytechnic, Sangapur in Medak district. The government also sanctioned anew building with an estimated cost of `3.5 crore.
Further, the state sanctioned a new Government Junior College for girls at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya premises in Gajwel and also sanctioned a new building with an estimated cost of `3.5 crore, hostel building with an estimated cost of `2.4 crore and `20 lakh for laboratory equipment, games material and library books, furniture, computer and office equipment. The government also sanctioned several new courses for Government Junior college for Girls.
In another GO, the government accorded permission to shift the Government High School (Boys), Gajwel to Government Polytechnic College, Sangapur.
The government sanctioned a new Government High School (Girls) and building with an estimated cost of `3 crore at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Sangapur. The staff required will be sanctioned separately.
