The Telangana State Cabinet has decided to recruit 3,620 police constables to strengthen security in the state. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet on Tuesday.
which mourned the death of Siddaiah, sub-inspector of police of Atmakur, who fought valiantly with the terrorists two days back. The proposal was immediately cleared as the state witnessed two major encounters in a span of three days.
Increase of ex gratia from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 40 lakh to the families of the police constables and lower cadre officers who died in terrorist violence was also taken.
A Cabinet sub-committee, headed by home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, was formed to fix up the quantum of money to the families of those killed and to those who were injured in incidents of terrorist violence.
Recruitment of skilled manpower will be made in power and irrigation departments as well, according to sources.
