The Government has decided to make Inter education free of cost in all government junior colleges in Telangana state.
The government decided to make Intermediate education in about 402 government run junior colleges completely free.
Students will also be provided textbooks free. Also students and parents in Telangana will not need to make rounds of the Board of Intermediate Education for marks memos and certificates as all these services have been made online.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said complaints of corruption and incessant delays against the Board of Intermediate Education have been piling up.
He said the government has decided to make 22 services like issue of transcripts, pass, migration, eligibility certificates and so on completely online. Even applications for setting up of new colleges, renewal of affiliations, shifting and so forth will be online.
“As many as 22 services will be available online from July 1 and students or parents will not need to come to the BIE offices at all. In one or two year’s time, TS BIE will be a model Board in the entire country,” he said.
