Telangana can be major hub of business activity

09/13/2020 By admin

KodandaramTelangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Kodandaram said that the Telangana State had great potential for developing trade links with neighbouring States like Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh if it could work out a proper industrial and trade policy focusing on speedy development.

Releasing the ‘Development Map of Telangana’ published by Telangana Vidyavantula Vedika (TVV), Kodandaram said that the new State of Telangana was centrally located in the Indian peninsula and could be transformed into a major junction connecting north to south.

“The State being a strategically placed region can be the hub of business activity in the near future if it is properly connected with major cities of the country,” he stated. According to him, business can flourish if the State government links districts of Warangal, Karimnagar and Adilabad with neighbouring States of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. The government should prioritise construction of bridges over Godavari for free movement of goods. If that happens the State could merchandise the textiles to these States.

“Ramagundam and its neighbouring towns can be transformed into an industrial corridor if roads are developed. A lot of data has been gathered and maps have been developed about the region through Remote Sensing, the government should utilise it to develop the water bodies and lakes,” the TJAC chairman stated. TNGOs president G Deviprasad called upon the people of Telangana to face the challenges ahead like development and optimum usage of resources. The State should transform itself into a model State in the country, he added. Senior Journalist K Ramachandra Murthy described Telangana as the hub of several movements and hoped that the new government would ensure that the living standards of the people were improved.

He expressed optimism that the poverty and economic variations would be reduced. Murthy urged the civil society to actively involve itself in building the ‘Bangaru Telangana’. TVV president Mallepally Laxmaiah and BJP leader Surabhi Bhoomrao also spoke on the occasion.

Telangana CM KCR adopts Modi strategy ?

09/13/2020 By admin

Telangana CM Finally the moment that the TRS boss K Chandrasekhar Rao has finally arrived. He took his oath to become the first Chief Minister of the newly formed Telangana state today.

As is mandatory, he gave his first speech which was filled with lucrative sops. KCR stressed upon the welfare of tribals, dalits and backward classes and promised that every rupee will be used for right purpose.

But here is something he took from the book of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. KCR reportedly announced a single window center for industries. Now, this policy is something Modi has adopted in Gujarat and it has shown remarkable results for the industrial sector.

If the new state of Telangana and its government machinery sticks as committed by KCR then it will surely bring good projects. KCR has also committed many initiatives towards upliftment of agriculture, poultry and pharma.

He has also spoken about irrigation. At this moment, he has given an extremely prosperous picture for the people of Telangana so it will be nice if he can deliver this as promised.

KCR promises corruption – free and transparent government

09/13/2020 By admin

Telangana’s first CM K. Chandrasekhara Rao Monday promised a corruption-free and transparent government with its top priority to work for the welfare of the poor and weaker sections of society.

Addressing the main official function to mark the formation of Telangana state, he said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government would be firm in dealing with political corruption.

In his maiden speech after taking oath as the chief minister of the new state, Rao said Telangana state had become a reality due to the sacrifices of the martyrs of 1969 and the participation of all sections of the society in the movement in recent years.

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, promised to live up to people’s expectations by working for their welfare and all-round development of the state.

The TRS chief said the non-violent movement for Telangana state would go down in the world’s history as the biggest people’s movements.

KCR said his party would fulfil all the promises made in its election manifesto. Lauding the role of the government employees in the movement, he announced a special increment for them.

He said the employees and pensioners would get the salaries on par with the central government staff. He also promised to amend service rules of the employees with their consultation and implement Pay Revision Commission (PRC) report. The chief minister also announced health cards for all employees.

KCR said the government would spend Rs.1 lakh crore over the next five years for the welfare of Dalits, minorities, tribals and backward classes.

“We will ensure that not even one rupee is misused. We will spend Rs.50,000 crore only for Dalits,” he said.

He said the government would take up housing scheme for the weaker sections on a scale never seen in the country. Every poor houseless family will get a 125-yards house comprising two bed rooms, hall, kitchen and a toilet.

KCR told the gathering that he will keep the portfolios of scheduled cast, backward class, scheduled tribes and minorities welfare with himself.

He also announced that the government would constitute an advisory council comprising eminent intellectual and journalists.

“We will follow the guidelines to be given by the advisory council,” he said.

Stating that agriculture would be a top priority for his government, KCR said the promise of waiver of farm loans of up to Rs.1 lakh would be implemented. The government will irrigate one lakh acre land in every assembly constituency.

Pointing out that Telangana contributes one third of pharma production and one third of poultry production in the country, KCR said he would give necessary incentives to further boost the two sectors.

He also assured all support to real estate sector. KCR announced that a single-window cell would be opened in the chief minister’s office to grant all clearances to the industries.

Admitting that Telangana is facing electricity shortage, he promised to make it a power surplus state in three years.

KCR said he would maintain good relations with both the centre and the neighbouring states to solve people’s problems.

Telangana State symbol Not TG. it will be TS ?

09/13/2020 By admin

Right from the time the latest phase of Telangana agitation picked up, supporters of statehood have started replacing AP on the number plates of their cars and bikes in Hyderabad with the symbol TG.

This was seen as a way of asserting their rights in anticipation of new state and now that new state has come into being, vehicle dealers were happy that their business would kick start. However, it looks like their happiness is shortlived.

Sources say that KCR has reportedly requested the Union government to allocate the letters TS meaning Telangana State instead of TG as he feels it will give a royal charm.

The approval is awaited from the union cabinet. Hence due to this sudden news, it is being said that vehicle registrations are all set to come to a halt for one more week as necessary changes have to be introduced in the forms and online updation of databases.

Full support to Telangana

09/13/2020 By admin

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the people of Telangana and its first Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao while assuring “full support” to take the state to “newer heights of progress”.

Though no representative from the Union government was invited to the swearing-in ceremony of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad, Mr Modi and his Cabinet colleague Rajnath Singh took to Twitter early in the morning to welcome India’s 29th state.

“India gets a new state! We welcome Telangana as our 29th state. Telangana will add strength to our development journey in the coming years,” the PM tweeted.

Recalling the sacrifices made by the people of Telangana, Mr Modi said that Telangana’s birth came after years of struggle and sacrifices by many. “We pay our respects to them today,” he tweeted.
The PM also congratulated Mr Rao as he took over as the first CM of Telangana. “My best wishes to people for the state’s development journey,” he said.

Mr Modi assured the Union government’s “complete support to the people and government of Telangana in taking the state to newer heights of progress.”

Union home minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated Mr Rao. Meanwhile, home ministry officials, who have been involved in the process of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, were surprised when the new Telangana government did not invite any of the officials for the swearing in ceremony.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi also congratulated the people of Telangana. In a message, she noted that the movement of creation of Telangana had a long history and “it was the Congress that finally decided to reorganise the state of Andhra Pradesh in 2013 to fulfil the democratic aspirations of the people of Telangana.”

Meanwhile, the Union government started devolving funds to Telangana from Monday. As per the 13th Finance Commission’s recommendation, the share of states in the Central divisible pool is devolved to the states on every first working day of the month.

“Telangana state has come into existence today vide Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act, 2014. Hence, the share of the erstwhile state of AP has been apportioned between the successor states and devolved to them separately,” an official release from the home ministry stated.

Chandrashekar Rao, and his team on Monday.KCR will receive a rousing reception from Telangana employees when he enters the Secretariat for the first time after the swearing-in-ceremony at Raj Bhavan. It’s a double bonus for the employees as KCR’s entry as CM and formation of the Telangana state falls on the same day.

Welcome arches have been set up from the newly created entrance of the Telangana secretariat to the C-Block, where the Chief Minister’s Office is located.

All the four blocks allotted to the Telangana Secretariat, A, B, C and D, have been decorated and illuminated for the occasion.

The CM’s security officials on Sunday conducted a “trial run” of KCR’s convoy along the newly laid road from the Telangana secretariat entrance to the C-Block.

KCR will enter the Secretariat in his bulletproof car after participating in the official Telangana Formation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad.

After disembarking from his car at the Nalla Pochamma Temple facing the CMO, KCR will perform puja at the temple and walk up to C-Block along with the Telangana employees.

The CM’s security officers on Sunday also reviewed the security arrangements to be taken while KCR walks with the large number of Telangana employees to the C-Block, which is a few yards away.

The new CM will then head to the special podium that has been built in front of the CMO and address the employees.

The Telangana employees are hoping that KCR will make an official announcement of a “special Telangana increment” for them on the occasion in recognition of their crucial role in the Telangana movement as had been announced in the TRS’ election manifesto.

Later, KCR will go to the CMO and take charge as CM. He is expected to sign his first order at 12.57 pm.

KCR appeals to President not to give assent to ordinance

09/13/2020 By admin

K-Chandrasekhara-rao

KCR

Condemning what he termed as “injustice” to Telangana, TRS president and Chief Minister-designate K. Chandrasekhar Rao rushed to Raj Bhavan in the evening to take up the matter with Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan.

Mr. Rao appealed to the President not to give his assent to the ordinance and claimed that the Centre had issued it bowing to pressure from its alliance partner Telugu Desam Party.

The bandh call was supported by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) and Telangana-based organisations, including ones representing employees and advocates.

The TRS president at a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday had said he had credible information that the first meeting of the Union Cabinet, presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cleared the ordinance but this was later denied by Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
