Traffic diversions for Bonalu Festival

City Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy has notified diversion of vehicular traffic at various junctions in connection with Bonalu Festival celebrations on July 20 and 21 at Kattamaisamma Temple, Lower Tank bund, here from 7 am to 10 pm on July 20 and from 4 pm to 10 pm on July 21.

Bonalu Festival in hyderabadTraffic will not be allowed on the Telugu Talli Fly Over from Iqbal Minar towards Katta Maisamma temple on the Lower Tank bund Road. Traffic towards Katta Maisamma Temple on the lower Tankbund Road from DBR Mills, Kavadiguda will be diverted at the M R O Office towards the Indira Park via Vaartha Lane.

Traffic towards Katta Maisamma Temple on the Lower Tankbund Road from Vaartha Lane will be diverted towards Ashok Nagar. Traffic will not be allowed towards Katta Maisamma Temple on the Lower Tankbund Road from the RTC X Roads and will be diverted at Reliance Apartment (Ramya Hotel) via: Street No 5, Domalguda. Apart from these places, traffic is likely to be stopped or diverted at the following places, if required: Indira Park X –Roads and Ramya Hotel, Domalguda, Street No.5.

Public may take alternative routes to reach their destinations and co-operate with the traffic police.Similarly, in connection with the Bonalu procession of Lal Darwaza, restrictions will be imposed on July 21 in Charminar, Mirchowk and Falaknuma Divisions of the Old City of Hyderabad from 12 noon to 10 pm. Besides, in Amberpet, restrictions will be imposed on July 20 and 21 from 2 pm to 10 pm in connection with the Bonalu festival in Amberpet, Hyderabad (East Zone) in case of necessity.

The Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic appealed to the citizens to take alternative routes to their destinations and avoid these routes during the specified timings and co-operate with the traffic police during the period of traffic diversions. Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police on Friday issued a notification for closure of wine and toddy shops in Cyberabad police commissionerate limits till July 22.

The Cyberabad police commissioner C V Anand, in a press note, informed that all the toddy and wine shops including bars and restaurants in Cyberabad limits would remain closed from 6 am on July 20 to 6 am on July 22, on account of Bonalu Festival. However bars in Star hotels were exempted from closure, informed the Commissioner.
