TRS get Ranga Reddy ZP chairperson’s post
Hyderabad : Arch rivals ruling TRS and opposition TDP joined hands on Sunday to bag the Ranga Reddy Zilla Parishad chairperson’s post. While the Telangana Rashtra Samithi bagged the chairperson’s post with the support of rival Telugu Desam Party on Sunday, the TD won the ZP vice-chairperson post with the support of the ruling party. During the elections conducted for the posts of ZP chairperson and vice-chairperson, TRS nominee P Sunitha Mahender Reddy bagged 21 votes to claim the chairperson’s position.
The TDP Leader Prabhakar Reddy was unanimously elected as the vice-chairman of the ZP. Ranga Reddy district collector N Sridhar declared the election of Sunitha Mahender Reddy to the ZP chairperson’s post after the election. Speaking on the occasion, Sunitha Mahender Reddy, who is the wife of state Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy, said that she would strive for the development of Ranga Reddy district with the support of leaders of all political parties.
State cabinet minister Mahender Reddy congratulated the newly elected chairperson and vice-chairperson on the occasion. The ruling party also bagged two co-option member posts. TRS leaders Khaja Moinuddin and Meer Ahmed have been elected as co-option members. The election for the Ranga Reddy ZP chairperson’s post was postponed due to lack of quorum earlier.
Pravalika is Suryapet municipal chief The ruling TRS has bagged the Suryapet municipal chairperson seat when its councilor from ward number 11, Ganduri Pravalika, won the election, securing 22 votes including that of Minister Jagadishwar. The TRS had won only four councilor seats, but managed to get its candidate elected. TDP, CPM, CPI and independents voted for the TRS candidate.
