The committee on framing of syllabus for the TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission) will give its final report on January 30. The committee met under the chairmanship of Prof Haragopal for the second time after its constitution.
The meeting discussed issues including necessity of changing syllabus in select areas of various subjects that will be required by job aspirants.
After the meeting, members of Prof Haragopal Committee made it clear that there would be only minor changes in the syllabus. Member Prof Lingamurthy told reporters after the meeting that the committee would recommend only minor changes in the existing syllabus.
He denied reports to the effect that committee was getting ready to make all-round changes in the syllabus.” The suggestions given by the students and the interests of unemployed youth will be kept in mind while submitting the final report,” he said.
The committee will hold another meeting on January 29, before finalising the report. Only the parts relating to ‘History and Culture of Andhra Pradesh’ will be replaced with the ‘History and Culture of Telangana’.
On the other hand, students of Osmania and Kakitaya universities have met the Prof Haragopal Committee and submitted a memorandum demanding the committee to give prominence to the role played by students of these universities in the Telangana movement.
It may be recalled that the Prof Haragopal Committee was formed to fine tune the APPSC syllabus to suit the requirements of the new state of Telangana.
The committee has hastened its work in recent weeks following a government directive.
