“We conducted nine examinations between September-December, six of them online, which very few PSCs in the country did within 11 months of formation. We have also charted a new path by conducting computer-based recruitment exam for 30,000 candidates simultaneously,” said TSPSC chairman Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani on Monday.

At a press conference convened to announce details of the 18{+t}{+h}national conference of PSCs to be held on February 4 and 5 and being hosted by the TSPSC here, he said the country’s youngest PSC has a database of about nine lakh candidates thanks to a one time registration system through its official website. Five lakh among them had also given their Aadhar number on a voluntary basis.

“Biometrics details of candidates taking the exam were attempted for the first time in the country for greater transparency. We are giving the details to the government so that the department concerned can have proper database of the employee joining till the end of his tenure.

We can also do socio-economic mapping of candidates seeking jobs akin to a virtual employment exchange,” he said. Chakrapani. TSPSC is also moving towards conducting online examination for 75,000 candidates simultaneously.

“The entire effort is to reduce interface between the members and candidates to prevent impersonation, influence in selection process and ensure complete transparency,” he explained. Web options are also to be provided to the candidates for interviews and preference of jobs.

“Candidates can also give options of what zone they would like to work, their caste and other details online,” Prof. Chakrapani. The PSC is now a full-fledged 10-member group and had also utilised personality assessor services during interviews to assess social traits, integrity and suitability of the candidate to the particular post, he added.

TSPSC’s interactive website,www.tspsc.gov.in, also helps registered persons to get alerts on job notifications, application confirmation, merit list, hall ticket download, key notification, etc.
